Case Studies
From Hong Kong to the Middle East, from government-level projects to landed orders — every case has verifiable execution and deliverables.
Thailand HITAP · National reimbursement health-economic modelling
Since 2022, Qiyang has worked with Thailand's health technology assessment agency HITAP, providing CEA (cost-effectiveness analysis) models for national reimbursement review — the core evidence that Qiyang's HTA capability is recognised by government bodies.
Capability proof: government-level HTA methodology collaboration · a government perspective on evidence-based decisions · an international health-economics network.
A Chinese pharma company · Overseas order landed
Reached a multi-million-dollar going-overseas partnership with a Chinese pharmaceutical company, completing the full pathway from market assessment to commercial progression, and has established cooperation intent with pharma companies in Zhejiang, Shandong and elsewhere on additional products.
Capability proof: full-chain conversion from assessment to order · identification of going-overseas opportunities for chronic-disease products.
Hong Kong Government Tender · Localised access for devices/pharmaceuticals
Established a Hong Kong subsidiary to meet bidding requirements and completed 16 government supporting documents over an approximately 36-month full cycle, building a complete understanding of bid pricing and localised access. The full "three-step" process was taken end to end:
- Pre-procurement preparation: met the bidding thresholds with legally effective access qualifications plus a Hong Kong-based local company.
- Tendering: completed 16 government supporting documents covering bidding, pricing and access submissions.
- Reimbursement: driving the subsequent HTA review and price-negotiation pathway through real-world business.
This full-cycle case provides a reusable execution template for HTA review and price negotiation in subsequent localisation projects.
Capability proof: verifiable government-tendering execution · incorporated local operation in Hong Kong · a foundation for reimbursement review and price negotiation.
Middle East Bridge · GCC / Saudi Arabia going-overseas network
Entered a strategic partnership with Middle East Bridge, leveraging its local Saudi market resources and policy channels to offer pharma clients full-chain collaboration from HTA access to local commercialisation, spanning Middle East sovereign wealth funds, Arab family networks and the GCC market-service network. Cooperation milestones continue to advance:
- 2022 · Middle East Bridge established, focused on GCC market services.
- 2025 · Became an official overseas partner of "Open Chengdu" (Riyadh); invited to share the opportunities and challenges for Chinese companies entering Saudi Arabia and to advise local industry on going-overseas strategy.
- 2026 · Co-launched the "AI Going-Overseas Service Port", a service ecosystem for AI + going overseas.
Capability proof: policy-access channels in the Gulf states · overseas partner of "Open Chengdu" (Riyadh) · co-founder of the AI Going-Overseas Service Port.
US market BD assessment · Alogliptin (DPP-4 inhibitor)
Completed a US market-entry and BD strategy assessment for a generic of the type-2 diabetes DPP-4 inhibitor alogliptin (Nesina): targeting the ~$3.5 billion US DPP-4 market covering 37 million T2DM patients, and delivering layered PBM / Medicare / Medicaid access pathways. Health-economic-model revenue scenarios (three-year cumulative): conservative ~$2.37 billion / base ~$3.52 billion / optimistic ~$4.85 billion (none are realised sales).
Note: the above are forecast scenarios modelled with health-economic methods for strategic reference only; they do not constitute realised sales or financial commitments. Figures are based on modelled assessments of public US market data.
- Differentiation: backed by large cardiovascular-safety RCT evidence (the EXAMINE study), usable in renally impaired populations, and priced 60–80% below the originator.
- Cooperation models: three tiers available — HEOR module / full-process engagement / risk-sharing.
Capability proof: access-pathway design for complex US payers (PBM/CMS) · pharmacoeconomic pricing models · delivery of a complete market-access report · pharmacoeconomic models reviewed by overseas HTA experts and checked against international standards.
A pharmaceutical company · Saudi Arabia licensing-price assessment
For a Chinese pharmaceutical company's product-licensing deal in Saudi Arabia, where the counterparty's original offer was about US$7 million, Qiyang re-ran the calculation with pharmacoeconomic models (combining biologic originator value, penetration rates and the local competitive-bidding environment): the reasonable licensing price should be US$13–17 million — matching Qiyang's "second growth curve": pharmacoeconomic pricing and negotiation support, charged at 10%–30% of the premium achieved over the original offer.
Capability proof: pharmacoeconomics-driven overseas licensing pricing · value and penetration modelling for originator/biologic products · securing a fair premium for pharma companies in licensing negotiations.
Industry Projects
Beyond client case studies, Qiyang Medical Research continuously publishes Industry Projects based on public data and health-economic models — strategic analyses and methodological studies on topics such as licensing vs NewCo, direct going-overseas vs license-out, global GLP-1 plays, and AI medical-device going-overseas.
